Itinerary
Day 1, Cusco – Challacancha – Inca Canal – Soraypampa – Lake Humantay
As is natural for us the day before the trip our Humboldt Expeditions team will give you the necessary introduction and recommendations for our trek and will organize for the following day. The next morning we will go to your hotel in Cusco to pick you up at approximately 5:20 am, then we will start our journey for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to “Mollepata” but not before passing through the check point of the entire route, in this place we can have breakfast if we have not already done so, buy what we will need and still do not have for the trip as repellent or water and of course make use of the bathroom.
After one more hour by car we will be in “Challacancha” where we will get ready to begin our adventure not before listening to the recommendations and explanations of our specialized guide, the hike lasts approximately 3 hours where we can walk next to an ancient Inca canal to “Soraypampa”, camp of our first day, where a small snack prepared by our dear team awaits us to continue our adventure directly to the lake of “Humantay”, Always listening to the recommendations of our guide we will enjoy a beautiful and mystical lagoon, finished our session of exploration and photos we will return to our first day camp to have a proper lunch followed by a well deserved nap and finally to finish the day a delicious dinner with the profile of the next day of our adventure explained by our guide and a surprise that will leave you astonished.

Day 2, Salkantay Pass – Wayracmachay – Chaullay
The following morning, before the sun rises, our beloved Humboldt Expeditions team, as is tradition, will wake you up with the best service that can be provided, accompanied by an energy-rich breakfast and the delivery of a box lunch to give you more energy on the way, we will then make our way to one of the top 5 highest and most visited passes in the region, the “Salkantay” pass.
At the pass, we will congratulate ourselves for having accomplished such a big task, but without exaggerating, since the altitude is considerable at this point, From here we will start our way downhill for approximately a couple of hours until we arrive to “Wayracmachay” where our team will be waiting for us with a well-deserved lunch, we will continue for 3 hours more downhill until we arrive to “Chaullay”, a small and cozy place that will serve for our second camp, here fortunately we have small stores, Internet and even hot shower (always check availability), in this way we will close a hard day with an appropriate dinner for the day, here the guide will ask you how you want to continue the adventure for your comfort and to improve your experience.

Day 3, Sahuayaco Beach – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes Village
We will wake up again with all the love and attention that our team can provide, we will start depending on what has been agreed with the specialized guide to take direction to “Sahuayaco” beach where we will enjoy an explanation about coffee, its planting, processing and tasting. We will also take our lunch in this place and we will say goodbye to part of our team, then a car will take us for an hour and a half to the hydroelectric, here we will also see one of the railway routes to “Machupicchu” and follow this same route to the town of Aguas Calientes, the weather and accompanied by the majestic river is spectacular for 3 hours of travel that is what lasts, and in the village our guide will cordially take you to your respective hotels, explain your meeting for 7: 00 pm, so together you will go to the restaurant reserved for dinner and also have time to enjoy the small but cozy town.

Day 4, Machupicchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco
In the morning after coordination with our team and guide you can choose to walk the trail used by the buses to get to “Machupicchu” this trail takes about an hour and a half and by bus about 20 minutes, after a few days of walking it is natural that we want to rest a little, already at the door of the sanctuary, Your guide will give you the necessary explanations to do the guided tour, those who have booked extra tours such as “Wayna Picchu Mountain” and/or “Machupicchu Mountain” can do them after a proper explanation of the tour and the guide will tell you where to go to do these extra tours (always check availability). Our entrance to the sanctuary is from 6:00am to 12:00pm, always take this into consideration for your return to Aguas Calientes town. When you return our guide will ask you if you want to share a last lunch, but not before indicating the train station for your trip to “Ollantaytambo”, here a transport will be waiting for you to return to your hotel in Cusco.

Guides
All our guides are highly qualified and academically trained to carry out this task. They are trained in culture, archaeology, anthropology, ecology, as well as in different specialties to fully cover the expectations of the visitor.
Permits and Entrances
As soon as the deposit and the reservation are made, the purchase of the respective tickets will be made and in this way the date and time of the visit will be confirmed, as these tickets are personal and non-transferable.
Transportation
Transport is guaranteed from the point of collection to the destination and return, as well as the necessary security measures to cover your expectations to the health situation.
First Aid
All the guides have been trained in first aid courses and techniques in order to respond quickly and effectively to any unforeseen event or emergency that may arise during the tour.
