The previous day our Humboldt Expeditions team will give you the necessary introduction and recommendations for our trek and will organize for the following day. The next morning we will go to your hotel in Cusco to pick you up at approximately 3:30 am, then we will leave for 1 hour and 45 minutes to the train station in Ollantaytambo to take our train to Km 104, which is the beginning of our trail.
In this place the train will stop, there will be a hanging bridge over the ancient Vilcanota river or “Willcamayo”, there will be a propitious place to take a picture to start our expedition with right foot not before of course passing through the first respective checkpoint, here we will also have enough time to go to the bathroom and get ready if still needed. After starting about 5 minutes we will see the first archaeological site “Chachabamba” one of the many towns that make up the Tawantinsuyo.
Then, it will be uphill enjoying the view of our beautiful river and the railway that leads to the city of Aguas Calientes, until we reach our next point “Wiñaywayna” beautiful and quiet place where there will be a proper explanation by our guide and also enjoy our box lunch, light but enough to give us the energy to continue our journey but not before passing through the second checkpoint and attention dear friends since this small stretch before reaching “Machupicchu” hides perhaps one of the best places to witness treasures turned into super rare and beautiful orchids.
We will know that our journey for today is almost over because we will be in “Inti Punku” and from there we will see what for the next day will be one of the best guided tours in the world. We will also have the necessary tranquility to take the best pictures since the afternoon is always less visited in the sanctuary. Then our bus will be waiting for us for about 20 minutes to the city of Aguas Calientes, our dear guide will take you to your respective hotels and you will rest properly to end our day with a dinner to share what so far are your experiences.

Faqs
There are 2 alternatives, being these a terrestrial route, which is not very used due to the time that this one implies from any destination, nevertheless, the great variety of companies that give service of interprovincial transport allows to have an ample range of services.
The alternative more recommended by the time and comfort continues being the aerial route, existing different companies that cover the different routes from access to the city.
As Cusco is a cosmopolitan city with a great number of tourists, the offer of accommodation is increasing every year, offering various alternatives mainly in the surroundings of the historical center making it easier for tourists to get around.
Along the Sacred Valley there are different towns with a great amount of options for lodging, however, this could represent a problem for the traveler in case of having reserved tours that require their presence in the city of Cusco, as in the case of the city tour.
Most hotels and even houses in Peru now have standard output from the USA and also output from South America.
However, it should be noted that Peru uses 220V outlets
It is not necessary to use special footwear such as hiking shoes or similar, however, it is recommended to use footwear that is comfortable since in some places you will have to walk long distances.
The canes are always useful, in some places they will be more useful than in others, for example, in Ollantaytambo you will have to walk long stairs and the trekking canes will be very useful, but they will not be of greater use in Pisaq, where a great part of the route is flat without steep ascents or long stairs.
The luggage can stay at your lodging without any problem since the tour generally only lasts one day. However, in case you have to make a connection to Machupicchu, you should take with you what you need for this tour, whether you have to spend a night in Machupicchu town or in another town in the Sacred Valley.
In the very special case that your lodging does not have a guardianship service or you do not trust it, you can contact us to organize the storage of your luggage.
Weather is a very complicated issue when predicting weather conditions since it can vary widely from one hour to the next and go from sunny or cloudy to very rainy from one location to another and vice versa so it is almost impossible to answer this question.
Even so, Cusco is characterized by two very distinct seasons, the dry season (from April to September) and the rainy season (from October to February)
The temperatures usually vary from 0°C in the coldest dry seasons and from 8 or 10°C in the rainy season. Making Cusco a fairly frigid city most of the year with a dry climate is easily refuted with garments that keep the heat in.
